The Bethaniëndwarsstraat is a quiet street in the heart of the old city center of Amsterdam, a side street of the Oude Hoogstraat and overlooking the smallest house in Amsterdam, next to the Oostindischhuis and the buildings of the University of Amsterdam. The bridge over the Kloveniersburgwal offers beautiful views of the Waag and the iconic Trippenhuis. This bustling neighborhood is home to numerous cozy cafes, such as De Engelbewaarder, Het Loosje, the Brakke Grond and the theaters on the Nes. Many restaurants, from Bern to Lastage and from small special stores to De Bijenkorf: everything is within walking distance. Even with children this is fun, within walking distance are several playgrounds and in front of the door are virtually no cars. In the neighborhood are very many shared-car stands.
