LOCATION

Noorderkerkstraat is around the corner from Lindengracht with a friendly town-like atmosphere where neighbors greet each other. The street itself has little car traffic.
You walk from here past Winkel for the famous apple pie, to the Westerstraat where you will find the most fantastic and specialized stores, in addition to the regular supermarket and where the market is on Mondays. On Saturdays there is the Lindengrachtmarkt and at the Noordermarkt there is an organic market and a famous brocante market.

In the immediate vicinity are numerous cozy cafes, such as Thijssen, De Linden or De Kat in de Wijngaard and excellent restaurants, such as Toscanini, Café Parlotte and Domenica. The Amsterdam canals, the historic buildings, the atmospheric cinema the Movies on the Haarlemmerstraat, the vast Westerpark with its many cultural events, eateries and also wonderful greenery for walking or playing, such as the nearby nature playground ‘Het Woeste Westen’; all this makes it a wonderful place to live. The house is also particularly conveniently located to public transport facilities, Central Station is a 15-minute walk away and from the Marnixstraat or the Haarlemmerplein several buses and streetcars depart.

LAYOUT

Ground floor: the front door with the entrance to the upper house is next to the large doors to the business space that is used as storage. This floor does not belong to the property for sale, but is part of the owners' association Noorderkerkstraat 3-5.

The living room on the 1st floor is spacious and bright with beautiful windows with double glazing in the original rod pattern. Here is an open plan living kitchen with plenty of room for a large dining table and with an attractive beamed ceiling. The light comes from all sides, through the lovely patio in the center of the floor where summer is good and with complete privacy. The back of this floor is formally just not high enough (1.98m) to count as living space because of the beams, but of course still an eminently usable room. There is a separate toilet and connections for another bath. In addition, a storage closet with the central heating system of the upstairs apartment and a door to a fine roof terrace.

The top floor on the fifth floor also has a good size and a beautiful high roof with the characteristic beam construction in sight. The roof was renovated and insulated in 2015, so this floor can also be used very well as a bedroom floor or for one or two studying rooms.
